Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Deriv is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design and operate reliable data pipelines that power trading decisions, product analytics, compliance, and AI/ML systems across a global fintech platform. You will own data accuracy end‑to‑end and ensure stakeholders receive timely, correct information.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for both batch and real‑time workloads.
• Implement AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate pipeline creation without sacrificing reliability.
• Embed observability from day one, including freshness checks, completeness monitoring, schema‑drift detection, lineage tracking and alerting.
• Integrate automated data quality checks and anomaly detection into every pipeline.
• Collaborate with trading, product, compliance and AI/ML teams to meet cross‑domain data needs.
• Continuously improve data governance and raise the engineering bar for the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and operating large‑scale data pipelines in a fast‑moving fintech environment.
• Strong ownership mindset with a focus on data accuracy and early problem detection.
• Ability to work across multiple domains such as trading, analytics, compliance and AI/ML.
• Senior‑level expertise and a track record of raising engineering standards.
