Senior Director – General Accounts & Financial Systems Management

About the role

The Senior Director of General Accounts & Financial Systems Management will lead the oversight of financial accounting, reporting, and system integration across all Abu Dhabi Government entities. This senior position ensures compliance with legislative requirements, drives strategic system improvements, and supports the fiscal policy of the government.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the review and closing processes for all government entities, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and legislative requirements.
• Provide strategic oversight of financial systems, including ADERP, Cash Digital System, Hyperion, Power BI, and legacy platforms.
• Lead the Harmonization Project to align policies, processes, procedures, and financial systems across entities.
• Issue unified accounting policies, chart of accounts, and general rules for account closure.
• Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to accounting systems for efficiency and productivity.
• Prepare and issue financial statement templates, performance reports, and risk assessments for top management.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive accounting standards and a consolidated Fixed Asset Register.
• Oversee supplier registration and master data management processes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in financial accounting, reporting, and government finance.
• Deep knowledge of UAE accounting standards and fiscal regulations.
• Proven ability to lead large‑scale system integration and harmonization projects.
• Strong risk assessment and mitigation expertise.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills to guide finance teams across multiple entities.
