Senior Electrical Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the engineering, design, and execution of electrical systems for large‑scale industrial projects in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering and design activities, including power generation and distribution system design, load schedules, and single line diagrams.
• Perform cable sizing, routing layouts, earthing and grounding, lightning protection, and lighting design calculations.
• Conduct short‑circuit, load‑flow, protection coordination, and arc‑flash studies.
• Develop and maintain electrical databases and documentation using SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL).
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil, structural, instrumentation, and HSE teams to ensure proper integration.
• Review and approve contractor and vendor documents, support procurement, and provide technical support during installation, testing, commissioning, and start‑up.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure project schedules, quality, and budgets are met.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 10–15 years of electrical engineering experience in industrial or oil & gas projects, with at least 5 years in a senior role.
• Strong background in FEED and detailed design phases, power generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, NEC and other international codes.

Required skills

• SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL), ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, SKM PowerTools.
• AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
• Load flow, short‑circuit, protection coordination, and arc‑flash analysis.
• Design of earthing, grounding, lightning protection, and lighting systems.
