Senior Electrical Engineer

About the role

Artelia is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead construction supervision on complex airport and infrastructure projects in Dubai. You will ensure technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and safe, high‑quality delivery from installation through commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Review design documents, specifications, load schedules, calculations, single‑line diagrams, shop drawings and method statements for compliance.
• Supervise installation of MV/LV power distribution systems, substations, transformers, generators, UPS, switchgear, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, metering and controls.
• Conduct site inspections, identify non‑conformances, recommend corrective actions and close out defects.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, ICT, security, BMS, fire‑life safety, airport systems and utility consultants.
• Witness and review FAT, SAT, functional, protection and integrated systems testing, and commissioning activities.
• Resolve design discrepancies, clashes, capacity constraints and protection coordination issues with stakeholders.
• Monitor contractor progress, assess risks, support progress reviews, payment assessments and quality reporting.
• Promote safe execution of electrical works, ensuring compliance with HSE, LOTO, temporary power and lifting procedures.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years post‑graduate experience in electrical engineering, design review, construction supervision, testing and commissioning of complex projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Significant experience on airport terminals, MRO facilities, hangars, control towers or similar infrastructure; GCC consultancy experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of UAE regulations, IEC, IEEE, BS, NFPA, BS 7671, CIBSE and airport industry standards.
• Current UAE engineering registration or eligibility to obtain professional licences preferred.
