Senior Energy Consultant

About the role

GHD is seeking a Senior Energy Consultant to lead and contribute to energy sector projects across the Middle East, covering electricity networks, renewable energy, storage and system integration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary energy projects and contribute to the regional growth strategy.
• Deliver feasibility studies, technical assessments, due diligence and Owner’s Engineer services from scoping to final recommendations.
• Support planning, design and delivery of network and substation projects, including specifications, procurement and construction input.
• Coordinate technical inputs, engage with clients, utilities and stakeholders, and manage project scopes, budgets and schedules.
• Mentor junior professionals and maintain external industry relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Energy or Power Engineering (post‑graduate qualification advantageous).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in consulting, utilities, EPC or technical advisory roles.
• Demonstrated technical depth in electricity networks, renewables, storage, grid integration or energy strategy.
• Strong written and presentation skills in English, with ability to convey complex technical information.
• Chartered Engineer status or progress towards professional accreditation is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with engineering and modelling tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, PSS®E, PSCAD, PLEXOS.
• Experience using Python or similar platforms for data analysis and energy modelling.
• Knowledge of international standards and engineering best practices.
