Senior Engineer - Embedded Software Developer

About the role

EDGE is seeking a Senior Engineer to develop, integrate, test and verify safety‑critical real‑time embedded software for advanced defence and aerospace platforms. The role covers the full software development lifecycle from requirements analysis to technical documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop robust real‑time embedded software using C/C++, RTOS and bare‑metal architectures.
• Derive low‑level software requirements and design modules based on system specifications.
• Perform hardware‑software integration, including BSP development, device drivers and communication interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN and Ethernet.
• Execute verification and validation activities (SIL, HIL), debugging, testing and participate in technical design reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic, Computer or Software Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of embedded software development experience with strong C/C++ proficiency.
• Experience in defence, aerospace or other safety‑critical environments and familiarity with requirements/configuration tools (JAMA, DOORS, Git, SVN, JIRA).

• C/C++ programming

• Software‑in‑the‑Loop (SIL) and Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) testing
• Debugging tools and techniques
• Knowledge of DO‑178C and MISRA C/C++ standards (preferred)
