Senior Engineer – Guidance, Navigation & Control

About the role

EDGE is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead guidance, navigation and control (GNC) development for advanced aerospace vehicles. The role covers the full GNC lifecycle, from requirements definition through flight‑test support, working with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and validate guidance, control laws, autopilot functions and control‑allocation algorithms.
• Derive GNC requirements from aircraft‑level, mission, safety and performance specifications.
• Design longitudinal, lateral‑directional and coupled‑axis control laws, including gain scheduling and mode management.
• Perform stability, robustness, modal and frequency‑domain analyses, as well as Monte Carlo and worst‑case studies.
• Support SIL, PIL, HIL, pilot‑in‑the‑loop and flight‑test activities, and investigate control‑system issues.
• Prepare technical documentation and support major design and readiness reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to reusable GNC architectures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Electrical, Mechanical, Control, Robotics, Applied Mathematics or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in safety‑critical control‑system development for aircraft, UAVs, missiles or spacecraft.
• Strong understanding of rigid‑body dynamics, state‑space modelling, linearisation and frequency‑domain analysis.
