Senior Engineer – Piping

About the role

Petrofac is seeking a Senior Engineer – Piping to lead a multidisciplinary team in Sharjah. The role involves overseeing the full lifecycle of piping design from concept through detailed engineering, ensuring compliance with project specifications, budgets and schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and designers in conceptual and detailed piping design, including front‑end, material selection, stress analysis, layout engineering and 3D modelling.
• Review Invitation‑to‑Bid documents, issue inquiries, evaluate vendor offers and prepare equipment, material and man‑hour estimates.
• Analyse contract requirements, prepare Technical Document Registers and verify specifications such as PDS, PMS, P&ID, GA drawings and area classification documents.
• Monitor and control project man‑hours, budgets and schedules; create manpower charts and recommend cost‑effective measures.
• Supervise stress analysis reports using CAESAR II and ensure isometric drawings are up‑to‑date.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical and instrumentation disciplines to resolve design issues and provide piping loads.
• Guide the preparation of conceptual layouts, pipe wall thickness calculations and reinforcement pad designs.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading engineering teams on large‑scale piping projects.
• Strong knowledge of piping design standards, stress analysis and material specifications.
• Ability to manage budgets, man‑hour allocations and project schedules.
• Excellent coordination skills with multidisciplinary engineering groups.
