Senior Environmental Scientist (Remote, Freelance)

About the role

Ethos is partnering with a leading AI lab to train a new language model on professional environmental documentation. The role involves creating, evaluating, and refining AI‑generated reports, spreadsheets, and slide decks that support environmental impact assessments, biodiversity surveys, and regulatory submissions.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and review AI‑generated environmental impact assessment reports, species habitat summaries, and water/soil quality data sheets.
• Develop and refine slide decks and spreadsheets for regulatory permit submissions and conservation project proposals.
• Interpret field and laboratory data (species counts, chemistry, emissions) and translate findings into technical documents for clients or regulators.

Required profile

• 4+ years experience conducting environmental impact assessments, ecological surveys, or regulatory compliance monitoring in consulting, government, or academia.
• Demonstrated ability to craft high‑quality technical documents, spreadsheets, and presentation slides with strong written communication.

• Compensation: $90 per hour (visible)
