Senior Estimation Engineer

About the role

A highly experienced Senior Estimator Engineer with 10 years of construction experience is sought to prepare detailed cost estimates, analyse tenders and support project bidding for construction projects in Abu Dhabi. The role works closely with the commercial, project management and procurement teams to deliver accurate, competitive and timely estimates in line with project specifications and UAE construction standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil, structural, architectural and MEP works, analysing tender documents, drawings and BOQs
• Carry out material take-offs, labour calculations and equipment cost analysis, and evaluate subcontractor quotations
• Support pre-tender and post-tender reports, review tender submissions and take part in bid clarifications, value engineering and commercial negotiations
• Work with Procurement, Planning and Project Management teams, monitor budgets and guide variations and change orders
• Maintain a library of unit rates, historical costs and vendor pricing, and prepare estimation reports, presentations and executive summaries
• Ensure compliance with UAE construction regulations and Abu Dhabi authority requirements, conduct risk analysis and support audits

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
• 10 years of construction estimation experience, with strong experience in Abu Dhabi/UAE projects
• Exposure to high-rise, residential, commercial, infrastructure or mixed-use projects
• Preferred: experience with main contractors, PMCs or MEP contractors in Abu Dhabi, familiarity with authority approvals and a track record in bidding and cost optimisation

Required skills

• MS Office, AutoCAD and estimation software such as CostX, Cubit or WinQS
• Preparation of BOQs, quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns
• Knowledge of UAE construction standards and specifications
• Analytical, numerical and attention-to-detail skills, with good negotiation and communication abilities
