Senior Hook Up Engineer - Mechanical

About the role

McDermott International is hiring a Senior Hook Up Engineer (Mechanical) in Dubai. The engineer leads the mechanical discipline and supports the Hook-up Lead and Hook-up Manager in delivering the construction and completion campaign during the hook-up phase, executing the project successfully and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review hook-up job cards, including prerequisites and sequential installations, and develop the work breakdown structure for the discipline scope
• Review construction work packs, prepare the hook-up schedule and coordinate with other disciplines
• Take part in pre-engineering, pre-construction and post-installation surveys, and maintain the constructability log
• Verify design MTOs, offshore contingencies and material requisitions, and coordinate deliveries on site
• Liaise with warehouse, fabrication and hook-up material teams, and with the commissioning team on system priorities and vendor activities
• Develop detailed hook-up plans and strategies for onshore and offshore projects, and guide junior engineers
• Collaborate with project management and procurement, run risk assessments, and report daily progress to the planner
• Travel to offshore sites and onshore yards, take part in toolbox talks, and comply with permit-to-work and QHSE policies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical or chemical preferred) or equivalent industry experience
• 10+ years of experience in related offshore engineering fields
• Strong knowledge of industry best practices, standards (API, ISO) and regulations for hook-up activities
• Professional certifications such as PMI or project management training is an advantage; degree holders must provide a MoHESR equivalency certificate
