Senior I&C & Automation Telecom Engineer

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Senior I&C & Automation Telecom Engineer to lead engineering activities across FEED, detailed design, EPC and brownfield projects in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures compliance with client specifications, international standards and project requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and coordinate instrumentation, control, automation and telecom engineering tasks for FEED, detailed engineering, EPC and brownfield projects.
• Prepare, review and approve engineering deliverables such as instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, hook‑up drawings, cable schedules, control narratives, cause‑and‑effect charts, logic diagrams and system architecture drawings.
• Design and specify field instrumentation, control valves, analyzers, DCS, PLC, SCADA, ESD, fire‑gas and safety instrumented systems.
• Participate in HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, FAT, SAT and design review workshops.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, commissioning and start‑up, and resolve technical issues with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors and vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control, Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of oil & gas experience, including at least 5 years on PMC projects.
• Proven experience in greenfield and brownfield terminal or facilities upgrade projects, preferably in the GCC/Middle East.
• Strong background in multi‑discipline EPC teams and in supporting procurement, construction, pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up activities.
