Senior Interior Designer (Retail & Leisure)

About the role

A global architecture and interior design consultancy, headquartered in Sharjah, UAE, is looking for a Senior Interior Designer (Retail & Leisure) to lead the design and delivery of projects in the retail and leisure sectors, from concept through completion. The role calls for technical design skills, client relationship management and mentoring of junior designers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead concept design, development and execution of retail and leisure projects
• Turn brand identities into spatial experiences that engage customers
• Develop detailed design packages using AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
• Prepare presentations, storyboards and visualisations for clients and stakeholders
• Work with architects, consultants and contractors to coordinate projects
• Manage supplier and vendor relationships, including sourcing and material selection
• Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative studio culture
• Oversee budgets, timelines and deliverables
• Keep up with retail and leisure design trends

Required profile

• 8-10 years of interior design experience, with significant retail and leisure exposure
• Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
• Client-facing experience and excellent communication and presentation skills
• Leadership skills to mentor juniors and manage cross-functional teams
• Fluency in English

Required skills

• AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and other design tools
• Knowledge of materials, finishes and retail/leisure requirements
