Senior Internal Auditor – Healthcare (UAE National)

About the role

A leading healthcare organization in Dubai is looking for an experienced Senior Internal Auditor to join its professional audit and risk function. The role suits an audit professional who wants to go beyond financial reviews and assess business processes, operational risks, internal controls, governance and organizational performance in a complex healthcare environment. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and audit teams to identify risks, evaluate controls, recommend improvements and strengthen the control environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute internal audit and advisory assignments across business and operational functions
• Review business processes to identify risks, control weaknesses and improvement opportunities
• Develop audit approaches, testing procedures and work programs based on identified risks
• Examine financial, operational and management information and use data analysis to support audit conclusions
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend practical improvements to management
• Prepare clear audit reports covering findings, risks, root causes and recommended actions
• Discuss observations with stakeholders and support remediation plans, then monitor corrective actions until closed
• Take part in enterprise and operational risk assessments and work with business and IT teams on systems, processes and controls
• Lead audit assignments, coordinate team members' activities and deliverables
• Contribute to improving audit methodologies, tools and analytics, and maintain accurate audit documentation in line with recognized standards

Required profile

• Must be a UAE national with a family book
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Professional qualification such as CIA, CPA or Chartered Accountant (CA)
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in internal audit, risk management, controls, process assurance or a closely related field
• Ideally 2-3 years of experience within the healthcare sector

Required skills

• Strong understanding of internal controls, business processes, risk assessment and audit methodologies
• Experience conducting operational, functional and/or system-based reviews
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret large volumes of information
• Exposure to audit analytics, data analysis or technology-enabled auditing is highly advantageous
