Senior Investment Analyst - Private Equity

About the role

Black Pearl Consult is recruiting a Senior Investment Analyst for the Investment Team of a client in Abu Dhabi. The analyst joins a close-knit group of investment professionals and reports directly to the Chief Investment Officer, supporting the sourcing, research, analysis and evaluation of private equity direct and co-investment opportunities, as well as the monitoring of portfolio companies and funds.

Key responsibilities

• Sourcing, researching, analysing and evaluating private equity investment opportunities and contributing to the overall evaluation process
• Developing complex financial models and valuation analysis, including DCF, LBO, precedent transactions and comparable company analysis
• Taking part in due diligence on past and projected financial performance, management teams, investment merits and risks, expected returns, regulatory issues, market attractiveness, industry dynamics and competitive position
• Making recommendations based on the team's due diligence and analysis
• Assisting in the negotiation and execution of investment agreements and related legal documentation
• Analyzing fund investment opportunities, including the fund manager's track record, strategy, value-add and investment team
• Drafting internal fund investment proposals for the Investment Committee and assisting in negotiating and structuring fund documentation
• Coordinating with internal groups on ongoing investments and monitoring the financial performance of portfolio companies and funds, including review of valuations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with a strong economic background, preferably with an MBA
• 3-5 years of progressive experience in investment banking, strategic consulting and, as a must, private equity
• Prior experience in a Private Family Office covering direct investments, co-investments and joint ventures is a plus
• Experience driving work streams in private equity or M&A, conducting due diligence and working with external parties
• Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills
• Team player able to deliver quality work under tight schedules
