Senior iOS Developer (Swift) - Accessibility Focus

About the role

A partner company, listed through a recruiter, is looking for a Senior iOS Developer based in the United Arab Emirates. The role builds and enhances a native mobile app with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusive design, using Swift, SwiftUI and UIKit. It is fully remote and international, with a central focus on VoiceOver support and WCAG 2.1/2.2 compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance native iOS apps with Swift, adding features and improving existing ones.
• Build and optimize UIs with SwiftUI and/or UIKit, keeping them consistent, responsive and high quality.
• Maintain robust architecture, optimize performance and keep code quality and reliability high.
• Implement accessibility features, including VoiceOver integration, Dynamic Type, scalable fonts, accessibility labels, traits, values and actions, and accessibility focus management.
• Test apps hands-on with VoiceOver, find usability barriers and fix accessibility defects.
• Validate implementations against WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.2 and work with technical stakeholders on accessible, maintainable solutions.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of professional experience in native iOS development.
• Commercial experience building apps with SwiftUI and/or UIKit.
• Extensive hands-on experience implementing accessibility features in native iOS apps.
• Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Good written and spoken English; ability to collaborate with distributed international teams.
