Senior Java Technical Software Engineer (Emiratisation)

About the role

Emirates Group is looking for a Senior Technical Software Engineer specialized in Java to join its agile feature team in Dubai. You will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining software solutions that support the airline’s global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver technical design, development and deployment of complex Java‑based solutions.
• Conduct technical design reviews, ensure appropriate architecture patterns and drive engineering best practices such as TDD, CI/CD and lean development.
• Investigate, debug and resolve complex production issues, including corner‑case scenarios.
• Mentor and guide junior software engineers, overseeing code quality and adherence to standards.
• Evaluate new technologies, create prototypes and present architectural recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience developing Java applications (Java 8/11/17) using Spring Boot.
• Proven experience with agile development and delivering business‑critical applications.

Required skills

• Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring WebFlux, JPA, Hibernate, JUnit/TestNG.
• Front‑end frameworks: ReactJS, NextJS.
• Messaging & integration: Solace, Tibco, Kafka, Netflix OSS components.
• Containerisation & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure (hybrid architecture).
• Databases: Oracle SQL, NoSQL, RESTful API design.
• CI/CD, DevOps, test‑driven development, event‑driven and reactive programming.
