Senior Manager – Risk & Compliance

About the role

The Senior Manager – Risk & Compliance will lead GEMS Education’s enterprise‑wide risk assessment, mitigation and compliance programmes. The role partners with the Board, senior management and operational teams across schools and corporate functions to ensure risks are identified, measured and managed effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the risk function, including tools and processes for risk identification, assessment, measurement, monitoring and reporting.
• Conduct risk assessments, evaluate risks against organisational criteria and define the company’s risk appetite.
• Prepare risk reports for the Board, business heads and individual owners to ensure clear accountability.
• Provide training and support to staff to build risk awareness throughout the organisation.
• Review existing policies, regulations and measures to assess current compliance status and recommend improvements.
• Monitor compliance processes across the group, respond to regulatory requests and report quarterly to senior management.
• Analyse insurance risks, review policies from a risk‑management perspective and collaborate with Procurement on insurance bidding and award.
• Develop Business Continuity Management / Disaster Recovery risk assessments and implementation plans.

Required profile

• Proven experience advising senior stakeholders such as the Board, senior management and employees on risk and compliance matters.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively with corporate departments, schools and group companies.
