Senior Mechanical Inspector

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Inspector to lead inspection and monitoring of mechanical works on oil and gas projects, covering both rotating and static equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Site TPI for inspection of rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines and static equipment including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks and boilers.
• Ensure equipment installation and alignment follow manufacturer specifications and project procedures (shaft alignment, grouting, soft foot, etc.).
• Witness and verify hydrostatic, pneumatic, mechanical run and alignment tests.
• Monitor welding, fabrication, assembly and erection, ensuring compliance with WPS, PQR and project specifications.
• Verify material certificates, inspection and test reports and related documentation according to ITPs.

Required profile

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• More than 10 years of experience in oil and gas field projects.
• Strong written and spoken English for technical reporting.
• UAE driving licence.

Required skills

• Interpretation of engineering drawings, isometrics, datasheets, P&IDs and technical specifications.
• Equipment alignment techniques (shaft alignment, grouting, soft foot).
• Conducting and witnessing hydrostatic, pneumatic and mechanical run tests.
• Welding monitoring and compliance with WPS and PQR.
• Verification of material certificates and inspection test reports per ITPs.
• Knowledge of ASME, API, ASTM and BS standards.
• Computer literacy for reporting and documentation.
