Senior MEP Project Manager

About the role

IRTH Group is looking for a highly experienced Senior MEP Project Manager to join its Main Contractor project team for a major construction project in Dubai. The role manages and supervises MEP subcontractors end to end, ensuring Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire & Life Safety and ELV systems are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality, in line with Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Defence and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Overall management of MEP works on site, acting on behalf of the Main Contractor
• Lead, supervise and control MEP subcontractors, specialists, suppliers and vendors
• Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality regulations, Dubai Civil Defence fire and life safety requirements, approved shop drawings, method statements and project specifications
• Prepare, review and coordinate MEP design drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements and authority submission packages (DM, DCD, utilities)
• Plan and monitor MEP construction programmes, coordinating with civil and architectural activities
• Approve shop drawings, submittals, method statements, ITPs and commissioning plans before consultant submission
• Attend DM and DCD inspections and close comments in a timely manner
• Manage MEP interfaces with architecture, structure, interior design, façade and specialist systems, and track progress, productivity and quality
• Handle lead testing, commissioning and authority approvals, and manage RFIs, variations and claims
• Ensure HSE compliance for MEP works and prepare progress reports for the Project Director and senior management
• Support procurement, evaluate MEP subcontractors and suppliers, and complete as-built documentation, O&M manuals and handover packages

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (mandatory)
• Minimum 12 years of experience in MEP construction management within the UAE
• Proven experience managing multiple MEP subcontractors for a Main Contractor
• Background in hospitality, mixed-use or high-rise projects in Dubai
• Experience on the consultant or PMC side is highly preferred

Required skills

• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality inspections and approvals, and Dubai Civil Defence submissions and sign-offs
• Understanding of FIDIC-based contracts
• Leadership, communication, planning, reporting and problem-solving skills
• Technical and commercial awareness
