Senior Officer, HSE (Transportation Safety)

About the role

This role supports the ADNOC HSE Control framework for Transportation Safety, influencing onshore contractors and sub-contractors to comply with the Transportation Safety Corporate Manual and corporate practices. It covers regular HSE inspections across sites, supervision of inspection activities, and maintenance of a database of drivers, vehicles and roads, including transportation safety technologies such as IVMS and AFDD.

Key responsibilities

• Implement ADNOC Onshore Transportation Safety standards across operations, with insight into company and contractor drivers, vehicles and road infrastructure.
• Conduct regular field audits, inspections and spot checks of vehicles, drivers and journey management systems to identify gaps.
• Analyse driver behaviour and vehicle performance data (IVMS, AFDD, DMS, telematics, GPS) to detect unsafe trends and enforce corrective actions.
• Verify contractor compliance with road safety requirements through systematic checks and performance reviews.
• Lead investigations of road traffic incidents with root cause analysis and preventive measures.
• Coordinate with site teams and transportation units to close gaps and drive on-the-ground safety campaigns.
• Liaise with Abu Dhabi and Dubai police and ADNOC group companies on enforcement and crash prevention best practices.
• Assess and approve ADSD training providers and audit training effectiveness.
• Provide technical support to operational teams on journey management, vehicle safety compliance and monitoring systems.
• Supervise the assigned area, train staff, contribute to department budgets and reports, and implement continuous improvement tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or another relevant discipline.
• Internationally recognized certification in Transportation Safety.
• At least 5 years of experience in road safety, implementing road safety strategies, standards, systems, procedures and training.
• Experience in traffic and road safety education and awareness.
