Senior Specialist - Governance

About the role

The Senior Specialist - Governance supports the development and management of the governance function of ADGM, an international financial centre in Abu Dhabi. The role develops and reviews an authority matrix, builds governance practices in line with ADGM's requirements, coordinates with assurance and business functions, and provides secretariat support to key management committees.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the governance strategy, policies, procedures, framework and operational plan, and support Key Performance Indicators for the governance function
• Manage the annual governance report and keep abreast of sector-wide governance developments
• Advise on governance issues, structures and culture, and act as custodian of the governance framework
• Ensure compliance with legislation and regulations, and manage delegation frameworks for ADGM Authorities
• Support the development of management committee terms of reference and the Delegation of Authority Matrix, and provide secretariat support to committees
• Follow up actions agreed at Board, committee and subsidiary board meetings, maintain the Register of Interests, and support risk, compliance and internal audit functions
• Review the governance framework periodically and support special projects and assignments
• Adhere to ADGM Information Security policy and confidentiality obligations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years in a governance function or a related area
• Knowledge of federal and local regulations and international standards and industry practices
• Experience in financial services preferred; experience with federal, local and regional regulators is a plus
