Senior Specialist - Production Engineer

About the role

AIQ, an Abu Dhabi-based technology company developing industrial artificial intelligence for the energy sector, is looking for a Senior Specialist - Production Engineer. The role leads the development and deployment of data-driven production optimization solutions by combining advanced analytics, real-time field data and physics-based models, supporting well performance, artificial lift and digital oilfield initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop data-driven algorithms and scalable industrial software solutions, and identify workflow bottlenecks to propose tool and process improvements.
• Contribute to R&D for next-generation models, production optimization and surface/subsurface techniques, integrating real-time sensor and reservoir data with advanced analytics.
• Carry out studies on stimulation, well design, testing, reservoir flow properties and fluid behavior, and recommend completion requirements and well integrity measures.
• Integrate operations systems with full-field production delivery and debottlenecking, using simulation to optimize well delivery.
• Provide detailed well programs for interventions and oversee workover activities such as testing, stimulation, coil tubing and e-line operations.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and efficiency improvements through automation, digital oilfield solutions and streamlined workflows.
• Recommend software to centralize data, improve asset surveillance and automate alerts and tasks.
• Participate in Digital Oil Field deployments (IFM, IVM, IPM) in the Middle East, define tender scopes of work and take part in internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years in petroleum production optimization or related activities, including 5 years in a specialist role.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering.
• Strong background in production optimization, with a focus on subsurface activities at well and field level.
• Wide expertise in drilling, completion, stimulation, well testing, workover, artificial lift (especially gas lift and ESP) and well performance diagnostics.
• Demonstrated track record in Digital Oil Field deployments in the Middle East.
