Sewage Plant Operator

About the role

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts is hiring a full-time, non-management Sewage Plant Operator in Dubai (Al Mamsha Street). The role covers responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance and basic repairs on tools, equipment and building systems, and keeping maintenance records and inventory.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests and communicate with guests about maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication, and visually inspect tools, equipment and machines.
• Identify, locate and operate shut-off valves and utility shut-offs, and use the Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and report daily activities and problems to other shifts.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair equipment, plumbing (plunge toilets, unclog drains), electrical components, lamps, switches and outlets, and other guestroom items.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and replace light bulbs and A/C filters.
• Program TVs, perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties, and perform landscaping and sprinkler repairs.
• Enter air handler schedules and make temperature changes on a computer.
• Welcome guests, follow safety and security policies, and keep a clean, professional appearance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Driver's license required.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry and kitchen equipment.
• Basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules.
