Shopping Experience Assistant - Cashier

About the role

The Shopping Experience Assistant at IKEA Dalma provides excellent customer service and support at the Info desk and the Returns & Exchange desk. The role covers cash transactions, customer needs and smooth store operations, while ensuring policies are followed and service bookings are handled so that the shopping journey is maximised.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the SOP for cash handling and receive payments by cash, cheque, credit card, voucher or automatic debit.
• Compute and record transactions accurately, count and record the float before trading and at closing, and prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports for reconciliation and sales trend analysis.
• Greet customers on arrival, make sure shopping tools and catalogues are available, and provide bags and trolleys.
• Attend to customers efficiently to minimise queues, handle routine complaints promptly and courteously, and brief the Duty Manager on complaints needing management help.
• Keep the Returns & Exchange desk policy perceived as generous and quick, and use it to spot and report product faults, safety or transport issues.
• Welcome customers at Smaland, explain the admission policy, keep children safe, and announce and page parents if issues arise in the playroom.
• Book IKEA services such as Home Delivery, Assembly and Measurement, and follow up on out-of-stock items in self-serve areas.
• Adhere to all system procedures and policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar customer service role.
• Ability to solve problems and handle routine customer complaints.
• Excellent English; Arabic is preferred.
