Site Civil Engineer - Reinforced Concrete & Precast

About the role

The Site Civil Engineer oversees and manages civil construction projects at site level, ensuring work follows the project design, specifications, quality standards and safety regulations. The role covers the full execution cycle of reinforced concrete and precast structural elements such as rafts, columns, beams, walls, precast slabs and beams, working with contractors, subcontractors, consultants and site workers.

Key responsibilities

• Reinforced concrete raft: verify setting-out, excavation and blinding levels, waterproofing and embedded items, reinforcement fixing, formwork and concrete placement, compaction, curing and testing (slump, temperature, cubes)
• Columns and beams: check alignment, reinforcement, formwork, embedded items, concrete delivery and vibration, curing and formwork removal
• Walls: verify alignment and thickness, reinforcement, formwork stability, controlled pours and curing, and coordinate repairs with QA/QC and the consultant
• Precast beams and slabs: review shop drawings and erection layouts, coordinate with the supplier, supervise lifting, positioning, connections, temporary propping, grouting and joint treatment
• Quality control: regular inspections, tests, and maintenance of inspection reports and non-conformance reports
• Progress tracking: daily, weekly and monthly reports, and liaison with the project manager
• Health, safety and environmental compliance, including site inspections, hazard mitigation and toolbox talks
• Cost control: monitor site expenditure, assist with cost estimates and identify savings
• Stakeholder communication with clients, consultants and local authorities, and representation at site meetings

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 3-5 years of site engineering experience, preferably in the UAE construction industry
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and plans
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational and time-management skills
• Effective communication and leadership, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• AutoCAD
