Social Worker (UAE National) - School Pastoral Services

About the role

Aldar Education is seeking a Social Worker (UAE National) to join its school group in Abu Dhabi. The role supports students' well-being by providing emotional, social and academic support and acts as a key link between students, families, schools and communities. It sits within the Pastoral Services Team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide non-therapeutic support to students facing challenges, liaising between the school, students, families and community providers.
• Work with the Pastoral Services Team to assess students' needs, identify causes and impacts, and provide support within the school.
• Collaborate with parents and teachers to address personal, social, mental and emotional health needs.
• Conduct interviews and assessments, develop and document case plans with the DSL/CPC/CPT, and refer to other agencies such as healthcare, legal and school services.
• Connect clients with community resources (housing, benefits, healthcare, legal aid) and advocate for their needs.
• Prepare assemblies on specific student needs and give information, training and CPD to individuals and families.
• Maintain accurate records, prepare reports and possibly give evidence in court; take part in ongoing training, supervision and team meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science or Education in Social Work.
• Department of Community Development (DCD) license.
• At least 1 year of experience in school counselling or other counselling.
• License to carry out student counselling (DOH not required).
