English EAL Teacher

About the role

Aldar Education, a family of schools in the United Arab Emirates, is looking for an English (EAL) teacher to join its growing network of schools, starting in August 2027. The role supports inclusive, innovative learning across a range of curricula, from nursery through to adult education, and is based in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Create a learning climate conducive to outstanding practice, with clear teaching and learning objectives and targets built on prior attainment.
• Identify SEN (POD), EAL and G&T students and meet their needs through differentiation.
• Plan lessons and learning activities with clear structure, pace, challenge and engagement, and use assessment for learning and performance data to inform planning.
• Maintain discipline in line with the Behaviour for Learning Policy and encourage punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homework.
• Mark students' work regularly, set targets for progress and record progress systematically.
• Undertake assessments requested by examination bodies, departments and the school, and prepare informative reports for parents and support parent/student events.
• Take part in subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work.
• Meet with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists when required, and carry out any other duties assigned by the SLT.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related subject, with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Teaching experience in the English National Curriculum.
• Ability to teach across the age range with proven success.
• Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).
• Experience in more than one international school is desirable.

Required skills

• Teaching the UK National Curriculum.
• Ability to work under pressure, problem-solve and be resilient.
