Software Development Lead – Digital Applications

About the role

Etihad Airways is looking for a Software Development Lead to steer engineering squads that build and enhance its web and mobile applications. You will combine technical expertise, people management, and delivery oversight to create scalable, secure, and high‑performing digital experiences for millions of travelers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor cross‑functional development squads across web and mobile platforms.
• Own technical delivery, ensuring alignment with product and business priorities.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, UX, QA, and DevOps teams to ship customer‑facing solutions.
• Drive Agile delivery, manage risks, dependencies, and delivery commitments.
• Provide guidance on architecture, cloud, APIs, and mobile technologies.
• Establish engineering best practices for coding, testing, CI/CD, security, and reliability.
• Champion automation, DevOps, and modern software engineering practices.
• Manage team performance, capability development, and workforce planning.
• Monitor engineering KPIs and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years leading development teams.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale web and mobile applications.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Web: React, Angular, Ionic framework, Node.js
• Backend: Java, Spring Boot, APIs, Microservices
• Mobile: Android (Kotlin), iOS (Swift), Capacitor
• Cloud & DevOps: AWS or Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines
