Software Engineer – AI Model Development

About the role

The Extreme-Scale Language Model team at the AI and Digital Science Research Centre is looking for a Software Engineer to build products and MVPs on top of large language models, and to move research prototypes into usable applications.

Key responsibilities

• Build products and MVPs leveraging Falcon and other large language models.
• Fine‑tune models for domain‑specific use cases using methods such as LoRA, prompt tuning, or RLHF.
• Design evaluation pipelines and benchmarks for fine‑tuned models.
• Develop and maintain backend services and front‑end interfaces to showcase model capabilities.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to translate product needs into model capabilities and technical requirements.
• Optimize model performance and user experience.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong experience in applied AI software development.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX.
• Fine‑tuning large models (LoRA, prompt tuning, RLHF).
• Cloud and GPU environments.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• Backend development frameworks.
• Frontend development frameworks.
