HPC Engineer

About the role

The InstituteTechnology Innovation Institute (TII) seeks a talented HPC Engineer to support and enhance the computational infrastructure that powers advanced scientific and AI research.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain HPC infrastructure including compute nodes, GPU servers, cluster management systems, and shared storage.
• Perform Linux system administration tasks such as provisioning, software installation, patching, and upgrades.
• Configure and maintain workload scheduling/orchestration platforms like Slurm or Kubernetes.
• Support researchers with software environment setup, workload submission, and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose hardware, OS, networking, storage, and performance issues and maintain GPU drivers, runtimes, and container environments.
• Automate routine tasks using scripting and configuration management tools, monitor cluster health, and assist with capacity planning.

Required profile

• Practical experience administering HPC clusters, GPU infrastructure, or large‑scale Linux environments (1–3 years).
• Strong Linux administration skills covering package management, permissions, processes, filesystems, and networking.
• Ability to investigate operational issues independently and know when to escalate.
• Good communication skills and collaborative mindset.

• High‑performance networking (InfiniBand, RDMA‑capable Ethernet)
• Familiarity with MPI, NCCL, distributed training (optional)
