Software Engineer – Peer-to-Peer Systems

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer specialized in peer‑to‑peer (P2P) technologies to join a cutting‑edge team developing decentralized search and networking solutions. The role focuses on building resilient, high‑performance systems that operate without centralized infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain next‑generation P2P infrastructure supporting decentralized search capabilities.
• Build scalable, reliable distributed systems and high‑concurrency networking solutions using Node.js.
• Implement and optimize peer‑to‑peer network protocols, including connection management, encryption, and NAT traversal.
• Develop distributed indexing systems based on advanced research concepts.
• Apply knowledge of distributed databases, CRDTs, and decentralized data structures to solve engineering challenges.
• Improve search technologies through information retrieval, ranking algorithms, and semantic search approaches.
• Collaborate with engineers and researchers to evaluate emerging technologies and translate ideas into production‑ready software.

Required profile

• Technically curious, hands‑on engineer with strong experience in distributed systems and networking.
• Professional experience developing backend software with Node.js.
• Passion for peer‑to‑peer, decentralized architectures and distributed computing.
• Experience with or strong knowledge of Kademlia Distributed Hash Tables (DHTs).
• Understanding of distributed indexing and related research concepts.
