Specialist Competency Development

About the role

The Specialist Competency Development will lead the design, implementation and upkeep of competency‑based development programmes for ADNOC Group. This role supports skill enhancement across the workforce and helps embed a performance‑driven culture within a global energy maritime logistics leader.

Key responsibilities

• Review and align competency development policies with global best practices.
• Partner with business leaders to create competency models and career paths that support strategic initiatives.
• Integrate competency standards with training programmes to ensure consistency with business needs.
• Identify training gaps against position competencies and conduct consultative sessions with functional heads and employees.
• Implement competency‑based individual development plans for UAE national employees.
• Coordinate with line management to schedule competency programme roll‑outs.
• Contribute to the development of reference material for competency programmes.
• Collaborate with the Training function on on‑the‑job training design and analyse programme outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in competency development, talent development or related HR functions.
• Ability to work closely with senior business leaders and functional heads.
• Strong analytical and consultative skills to assess training gaps and design solutions.
• Familiarity with UAE national employee development initiatives is an advantage.
