Specialist Consultant – Intensive Care (Australian Board)

About the role

A leading UAE healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Intensive Care Consultant with an Australian Board qualification. The role involves delivering high‑quality critical care to severely ill patients and supporting the hospital’s intensive care standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultant‑level care to critically ill and high‑dependency patients.
• Manage complex medical and surgical intensive care cases, including sepsis and multi‑organ failure.
• Perform and supervise invasive and non‑invasive critical care procedures.
• Coordinate care with emergency medicine, surgery, cardiology and other specialties.
• Participate in rapid response, resuscitation and emergency management.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with UAE regulations.
• Engage in multidisciplinary meetings, teaching, audit, research and quality‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Australian Board/Fellowship qualification in Intensive Care Medicine (e.g., FCICM).
• Current specialist registration and good professional standing.
• Relevant consultant‑level clinical experience, preferably in a tertiary‑care or academic hospital.
• Eligibility for DOH/DHA licensing.
• Strong clinical, communication, leadership and decision‑making abilities.
