Specialist Consultant Rheumatologist – Western Board – Sharjah, UAE

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Specialist/Consultant Rheumatologist with a Western Board qualification to join a reputable healthcare organisation in Sharjah, UAE. The role involves delivering evidence‑based care for patients with rheumatological, autoimmune and musculoskeletal conditions, and coordinating multidisciplinary treatment plans.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist consultations, diagnose and manage inflammatory, autoimmune and musculoskeletal disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout and osteoporosis.
• Order, interpret and act on laboratory, imaging and other diagnostic investigations, initiating appropriate pharmacological and biologic therapies.
• Monitor treatment response, medication safety and disease progression, and adjust management plans accordingly.
• Educate patients on disease management, lifestyle modifications and treatment adherence.
• Collaborate with orthopaedics, internal medicine, dermatology, nephrology and other specialties, participating in multidisciplinary meetings and case discussions.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD, MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Recognized Western Board qualification in Rheumatology or an equivalent qualification accepted by UAE health authorities.
• Valid UAE Specialist/Consultant Rheumatology licence or eligibility to obtain one, with current professional registration and Good Standing Certificate.
• Current BLS certification and any additional certifications required by the facility.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and decision‑making abilities, with excellent communication and patient‑centred care skills.
