Specialist Electrical Engineer – Offshore Water Injection Project

About the role

The Specialist Electrical Engineer will lead the electrical design, engineering and technical support for an offshore water injection project. The role covers the full project lifecycle from concept through commissioning, ensuring compliance with client, safety and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review electrical design deliverables for offshore water injection facilities, including single‑line diagrams, load lists and cable schedules.
• Perform power system studies such as load flow, short‑circuit, harmonic and protection coordination analyses.
• Specify and evaluate equipment (generators, transformers, switchgear, VFDs, UPS, cathodic protection) and ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, NFPA, API and hazardous‑area standards.
• Support fabrication, installation, pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities, resolve technical queries and participate in FAT/SAT testing.
• Coordinate with mechanical, instrumentation, process and civil teams and manage interfaces with EPC contractors and vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree advantageous.
• 15+ years of electrical engineering experience in oil & gas, offshore or EPC projects, with at least 5 years in a senior specialist role.
• Proven experience on offshore platforms, water‑injection or subsea projects and familiarity with FEED, detailed engineering and commissioning phases.
• Professional engineering registration preferred.

Required skills

• Electrical system design and power distribution for MV/LV networks.
• Power system analysis tools (ETAP, SKM, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, API and NFPA standards and hazardous‑area (Ex, ATEX, IECEx) compliance.
• Vendor package engineering, equipment specification and commissioning support.
