Specialist Process Engineer

About the role

The Specialist Process Engineer will provide specialist technical expertise, engineering assurance and oversight of process engineering activities for a major ADNOC Offshore project. The role is based in Abu Dhabi, supporting the client or contractor office.

Key responsibilities

• Review and monitor EPC contractor process engineering deliverables, ensuring technical integrity of design documents such as Design Basis, PFDs, P&IDs, heat & material balances, datasheets, calculations, equipment and line sizing, relief and blowdown calculations, and control philosophies.
• Perform or review process simulations for upstream/offshore facilities using Aspen HYSYS, PRO‑II and related tools, and validate equipment sizing for separators, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, etc.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP and other safety reviews, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and provide technical support during construction, commissioning and start‑up.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive process engineering experience in oil & gas, preferably offshore EPC/PMC projects, covering FEED and detailed engineering.
• Previous experience on ADNOC or ADNOC Offshore projects is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Process simulation tools: Aspen HYSYS, PRO‑II (or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of process design deliverables: PFDs, P&IDs, heat & material balances, equipment sizing, relief and blowdown calculations.
• Understanding of process safety, relief systems, and emergency shutdown interfaces.
