Specialist Psychiatrist – Full-Time in Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Specialist Psychiatrist to join our medical team in Abu Dhabi. The role involves comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up care for adult patients with a wide range of mental health conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including clinical history and mental status examinations.
• Diagnose and manage conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, OCD, PTSD, personality disorders, sleep‑related conditions, ADHD and other neuropsychiatric disorders.
• Develop individualized, evidence‑based treatment plans and prescribe psychotropic medications.
• Monitor treatment response, side effects, medication adherence and provide psychotherapy where qualified.
• Assess suicide risk and manage psychiatric emergencies.
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical records and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options and relapse prevention.

Required profile

• Medical degree from a recognized institution and postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry.
• Eligibility for Specialist Psychiatrist licensing with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and a valid professional licence.
• Relevant post‑specialization clinical experience and good standing with the licensing authority.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification where required.
• Strong command of Arabic; English proficiency is an advantage.
