Specialist Visceral Surgeon (American Board Certified) – Government Hospital

About the role

A prestigious government hospital in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Visceral Surgeon who holds American Board certification. The role involves delivering advanced surgical care for abdominal and gastrointestinal diseases in both elective and emergency settings.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, evaluate and manage patients with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and abdominal organs.
• Perform open and minimally invasive visceral surgical procedures, including laparoscopic techniques.
• Conduct comprehensive pre‑operative assessments and develop individualized surgical plans.
• Provide post‑operative care, monitor recovery and manage complications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists and anesthesiologists.
• Participate in trauma and emergency surgery services, on‑call rotations and departmental meetings.
• Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents and surgical staff.

Required profile

• American Board certification in Visceral Surgery.
• Extensive experience in both open and minimally invasive abdominal surgery.
• Strong knowledge of UAE healthcare regulations and infection‑prevention protocols.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to continuous medical education, research and quality improvement.
