Staff Data Scientist

About the role

The Staff Data Scientist will lead the design and delivery of AI/ML solutions that support data‑driven decision making across customer engagement, marketing, risk and product functions. The role combines strong analytical expertise with hands‑on experience in open‑source technologies and model deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business problems into analytical use‑cases, define outcomes and develop appropriate algorithms.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers and stakeholders to build data pipelines, automate processes and deploy models in batch and real‑time environments.
• Maintain high coding and design standards to ensure reproducibility and transparency.
• Drive innovation by enhancing existing solutions and creating new AI‑ML applications for the bank’s analytics community.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in analytics or data science, with 3‑4 years in banking analytics.
• Proven experience delivering end‑to‑end ML model deployment and supporting ad‑hoc reporting requirements.

Required skills

• Strong Python programming skills.
• SQL proficiency.
• Experience with SAS, R or Spark (plus).
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, APIs, ODBC and web‑app deployment.
• Familiarity with machine‑learning techniques such as regression, classification, time‑series, clustering, NLP, image processing and optimization.
