Staff Nurse – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

About the role

The Staff Nurse will provide direct and indirect care to patients ranging from neonates to adolescents in a high‑acuity Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The role involves comprehensive nursing assessment, planning, intervention and coordination of care while engaging families throughout the care continuum.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver age‑specific, patient‑centered care using the nursing process.
• Perform continuous critical‑care assessments of patients and families, recognizing subtle cues to anticipate problems.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop, revise and prioritize individualized care plans.
• Document all relevant data in the medical record according to hospital standards.
• Maintain supplies, equipment and a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Handle and administer narcotic/controlled drugs safely and document per policy.
• Participate in unit meetings, committees, continuous quality‑improvement activities and mandatory education programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (minimum three‑year full‑time program) or equivalent two‑year degree.
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand or Australia.
• UAE nationals may be exempt from experience requirements when holding a local degree.
• Commitment to maintaining clinical competency and completing required competencies and education.
