Staff Nurse - Obs & Gyn Clinic

About the role

American Hospital Dubai is hiring a Staff Nurse for its Obs & Gyn clinic. The nurse provides direct patient care and coordinates patient-care activities across adolescent, adult and geriatric populations, supporting gynaecological procedures such as colposcopy, cryotherapy, endometrial biopsy, IUD insertion/removal and CTG monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Provide age-specific, patient-centred care using the nursing process, with continual assessment of physical and psychological needs
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, coordinate care plans and initiate transfer plans
• Document data in the medical record and maintain supplies and equipment
• Perform safe handling and administration of narcotic and controlled drugs, and complete unit competencies such as pain management and emergency device use
• Take part in staff meetings, unit committees, quality improvement activities and mandatory education (fire, safety, infection control)
• Assist with colposcopy, cryotherapy, endometrial biopsy, excision of Bartholin cyst, cervical cerclage and polyp removal, implant insertion/removal, and IUD insertion/removal; perform CTG monitoring

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (minimum 3 years full-time) or a nursing degree (minimum 2 years) with registration as a registered nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand or Australia
• UAE nationals: exempt from experience and clinical training requirements for the applied title; must submit birth certificate and mother's family book
• Non-UAE nationals from UAE universities must complete 6 months of clinical training after graduation (except for Registered and Assistant Nurse titles)
• Valid license to practice in the home country or country of last employment, and a valid BLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of recent post-graduate experience in an obstetrics and gynaecology setting
