Staff Nurse - SCBU

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Staff Nurse to join our Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) in Ajman. The role involves delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care to newborns who require specialised support, while working closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to neonates, including premature, low‑birth‑weight and medically complex infants.
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications and support feeding (oral, tube or IV) according to the care plan.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and nursing records.
• Assist with procedures such such as resuscitation, phototherapy and IV therapy.
• Collaborate with neonatologists, paediatricians and other team members.
• Educate and support parents, encouraging their involvement in care.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection‑control and patient‑safety protocols.
• Participate in continuous professional development and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Valid nursing licence.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience in Neonatal/SCBU/NICU settings.
• Current BLS and NRP certifications.
• Strong communication, clinical decision‑making and empathy.
