Staff Physician – Cardiac Surgeon

About the role

The Staff Physician – Cardiac Surgeon provides expert diagnosis, prevention and treatment for patients within the Heart, Vascular and Thoracic – Cardiac Surgery specialty at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. The role involves direct patient care, performing complex cardiac operations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and provide comprehensive cardiac, vascular and thoracic care to in‑patients and out‑patients.
• Prescribe medication, therapy and specialized treatments, and perform cardiac surgical procedures as required.
• Analyze medical records, test results and imaging to diagnose conditions and develop treatment plans.
• Document patient encounters, maintain accurate clinical notes, and coordinate referrals to other specialists.
• Participate in hospital committees, task forces and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• MD, MBBS, MBChB or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a recognized Cardiac Surgery specialty certification.
• For Tier 1 physicians: minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience; for Tier 2 physicians: minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience.
• Valid medical license/registration in the home country or last place of employment.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
