Staff Physician - Primary Care

About the role

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Consultant in Primary Care to join its medical staff. The Staff Physician will provide comprehensive primary‑care services, lead clinical initiatives, and contribute to research and evidence‑based practice within a world‑class academic hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and provide direct care to patients in the Primary Care specialty.
• Prescribe medication, therapy and other treatments, and perform appropriate surgical procedures.
• Analyze medical records, test results and histories to diagnose conditions.
• Explain procedures, test results and treatment plans to patients and families.
• Document patient encounters and coordinate referrals to other specialists.
• Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality, culturally sensitive care.
• Participate in administrative duties, committees and performance‑improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to ethical, regulatory and hospital policies and maintain clinical privileges.

Required profile

• Tier 1 qualification (e.g., American Board of Medical Specialties, UK CCT) with at least two years post‑qualification experience (or five years for Tier 2 candidates).
• Valid medical license in the home country or last place of employment and compliance with Maintenance of Certification requirements.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team of health‑care professionals.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is preferred.
