Structural Design Engineer

About the role

Parsons is seeking a talented Structural Design Engineer to join its UAE team. You will apply engineering principles and design techniques to deliver high‑quality structural solutions for building and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and supervise structural engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with codes and quality standards.
• Perform structural analysis and design for steel‑framed, reinforced and prestressed concrete, composite, precast and cast‑in‑place structures.
• Prepare calculations, specifications, drawings, reports and technical documentation.
• Coordinate designs with architects, MEP, civil, geotechnical engineers and contractors.
• Review drawings, shop drawings and design submissions for compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD designers, BIM modelers and junior engineers.
• Support procurement, tender evaluation, contractor queries and construction activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum five years of experience in structural design, including steel structures and concrete systems.
• Strong knowledge of international design codes (AISC, ASCE, IBC, ACI, Eurocodes, BS Standards).
• Professional registration or progress toward registration is preferred.

Required skills

• Structural analysis and design software: ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, IDEA Statica, SAFE, MIDAS, CSiBridge, Autodesk Structural Analysis.
• Technical expertise in steel structures, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, precast concrete, cast‑in‑place concrete, composite steel and foundation systems.
• Ability to prepare and review calculations, design drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Effective coordination with multidisciplinary project teams and strong communication in English.
