Structural Design Engineer

About the role

This Structural Design Engineer develops and delivers high-quality structural designs that meet client requirements, project objectives and engineering standards, and ensures structural concepts are accurately translated into construction through coordination with architects, engineers, contractors and stakeholders. The role maintains compliance with local and international building codes, safety regulations and sustainability principles, and supports the organization through technical documentation, bids and proposals and reporting to management.

Key responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural elements for buildings, bridges, towers and other infrastructure projects
• Use structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS and STAAD Pro to develop models, calculations and technical drawings
• Coordinate with architects, civil engineers and other stakeholders to integrate structural designs into overall project plans
• Guide drafting teams and review drawings for accuracy and compliance with standards
• Take part in project meetings and conduct site inspections to monitor progress and compliance
• Resolve construction issues and discrepancies, and review material submittals, shop drawings and other construction documentation
• Maintain project records and assist in preparing bids, tenders and proposals

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent
• 3 to 5 years of experience, preferably in an engineering consultancy

Required skills

• SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD Pro and AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods and structural behavior
