Student Supervisor - Grades 8 & 9 Boys (Immediate Start)

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting a Student Supervisor for Grades 8 and 9 boys at Virginia American School, with a strong pastoral focus. The role supports student wellbeing, attendance and behaviour, and works closely with the Pastoral Team. It is advertised as open to both internal and external candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pastoral supervision and support for students, especially Grades 8 and 9 boys, promoting positive behaviour, engagement and wellbeing
• Support Reception and the Attendance Officer with monitoring student whereabouts, attendance follow-up and accountability
• Safeguard and promote the welfare, wellbeing and safety of students, particularly in the secondary phase
• Work with the Pastoral Team to improve attendance, punctuality, transitions, rewards, lockers, behaviour and pastoral interventions
• Liaise with Assistant Principals, Heads of Year, Heads of Key Stage, Admissions, Housekeeping, IT and external providers, and support school events such as Open Evenings, Assemblies and Annual Awards
• Maintain accurate, secure pastoral data and reward records, and manage reward processes including certificates
• Use school systems such as iSAMS, ePraise, CPOMS, SmartPass, Microsoft Office and Canva; update pastoral and curriculum handbooks
• Monitor pastoral budgets, maintain stocks of awards and stationery, and respond to queries professionally
• Carry out visual checks on pastoral and office equipment, support general administration, and act as interpreter at parent-student meetings when required
• Act as the main coordinator for trips, visits, ECAs and enrichment activities, and supervise students during breaks, transitions and assemblies

Required profile

• High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Child Development or a related field
• At least 2 years of experience working with students in a school setting
• Experience in student supervision, pastoral care, safeguarding, behaviour support or student wellbeing
• Understanding of child protection and safeguarding practices
• Proficiency in both English and Arabic (speaking, reading and writing)

Required skills

• Computer literacy, including iSAMS, Microsoft Office and Canva or similar design tools
• Teamwork, organisational skills and good communication in English
• Interpersonal skills and commitment to the school's vision, mission and continuing professional development
