About the role

The Substitute Teacher steps in to deliver classroom instruction when the regular teacher is absent, ensuring continuity of learning. This role demands flexibility, strong classroom management, and the ability to follow prepared lesson plans while supporting diverse student needs.

Key responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans and classroom activities as provided by the regular teacher.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment.
• Take attendance and follow school policies and procedures.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with school guidelines.
• Provide instructional support and assistance to students as needed.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration.
• Leave detailed notes for the regular teacher regarding student progress and classroom activities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred; education‑related field a plus).
• Valid substitute teaching license or certification as required by the district.
