Tailor - Luxury Hotel

About the role

Raffles The Palm, a luxury beach resort on Palm Jumeirah, is looking for a Tailor who reports to the Linen/Laundry Supervisor. The Tailor provides high-quality tailoring and alteration services to support the hotel's operational and guest service needs, keeping uniforms, staff clothing, linen and other textiles in excellent condition.

Key responsibilities

• Repair flat work such as bed linen, bathrobes, towels and bath mats used in rooms
• Repair table linen, kitchen linen, curtain headings and hems
• Alter and sew buttons onto all hotel uniforms
• Perform minor repairs and alterations to guest items on request
• Help uniform staff check, sort and distribute uniforms
• Maintain machines and keep the work area clean and in good repair
• Check machines regularly and follow OH&S policies
• Manage materials and supplies and carry out special projects as assigned

Required profile

• Secondary education
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar capacity in the hospitality industry
• Average reading, writing and oral proficiency in English
• Well presented and professionally groomed
• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail

• Maintenance of sewing machines
